– New building inaugurated

SSTM has been shifted to the newly constructed multi-storied building adjacent to the previous building. Dr.G.P.C.Nayar, Chairman, SCMS Group formally inaugurated the building on February 25. Prof.N.C.George, Vice Chairman, Prof.A.K.Kesava Pillai, Registrar, Prof.Radha Thevannoor, Director, SSTM, Prof.Indu Nair, Additional Director, MCA Programme, Dr.V.Raman Nair, Additional Director, SCMS-COCHIN Prof.K.J. Paulose, Dean, members of the faculty, students and others were present on the occasion.

Sixty more seats for MBA

With the additional 60 seats approved now by AICTE the intake for the MBA programme at SSTM has increased to 120.

Article published

An article by Smt.Smitha Siji and Dr.N.Rajagopal, members of the faculty, titled ‘Analysis of generation mix at work place’ was published in the Journal of Contemporary Research in Management July-December 2007 issue.
An article titled ‘Seat belt – Saving life during a crash’ by Prof. V.Rajagopal was published in the magazine Executive Knowledge Lines, February 2008 issue.

SSTM wins runner up title

SSTM team which participated in the management meet, Carpe’ Diem,’ organized by ICFAJ, Thrissur on — had won the runner up trophy by being first in Finance game, HR game and Marketing game. The winners were:
Finance game – Mithu M.Varghese and Keerthipriya G. Menon – First.
HR game – Poornima Natraj, Smitha Ann John and Sruthi N.V. – First.
Marketing game – Riji Joseph, Mohammed Fazil, Swathi Jagdeesan and Saino Paul – First.

Paper presented

Smt.Smitha Siji, Lecturer presented a paper titled ‘Indian ethos and management: Towards a new managerial vision’ at an international conference on ‘Expanding horizons of Indian business and Indian management’ held at IBA, Bangalore on January 15 and 16.

 

Paper published

An article by Shri Ajay Kumar Pillai, Lecturer, on ‘A study of behavioral variables influencing cost allocation system’ was published in PES Business Review, January 2008 issue.

 MCA students bag prizes

Two teams of MCA semester 5 students participated in the national level IT Meet ‘Technitrous 08’organized by MACFAST, Thiruvalla and bagged the first and third prizes in the event word hunt. The first prizewinners were Ebby Stephen, Prashant M. and Tiju Thankachan. The third prize-winning team consisted of Aji M. Thomas, Manosh M and Lineesh M.B.

In another national intercollegiate IT fest, ‘SanthiZest ’08,’organized by Santhigiri College, Thodupuzha a team of MCA semester 3 students, Anoop mathews and Mathew M. Thomas, bagged the first prize in the event ‘Chayachitra’ (Photography).
