Market study conducted

SCMS Center for Socio-economic Research has conducted a market survey for Jai Hind Malayalam Television channel focusing on three objectives.

1. Profiling of Malayalam channel viewers
2. To study the preferences of Malayalam television programmes
3. To study the public preference of Jai Hind television channel.

A total of 1523 samples were collected from respondents across the state of Kerala. The study concludes that the even though the channel is a recent entrant into the market, it has managed to secure a growing viewer ship. It is quite interesting to note that when male viewers prefer to watch news, documentaries, investigative reports and children’s news the preference of female viewers’ preferences are more towards chat shows, cookery, etc.
The project was coordinated by Prof.Radha Thevannoor, Director, SCENSOR. The team members were Dr.N.Rajagopal and Smt.Susan Abraham, members of the faculty. MBA batch 5 students were involved in the data collection. The report has been submitted to the Jai Hind channel.
