SCMS Institute of Biotechnology to collaborate with Curtin University, Australia

Dr.Zora Singh, Professor of Horticulture, Division of Science and Engineering, Curtin University of Technology, the largest University of West Australia, had visited SCMS Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology Research and Development (SIBB-R&D) on November 26 and had detailed discussions with Prof.Pradeep P.Thevannoor, Director, SCMS Group, Prof.Pramod P. Thevannoor, Director, SCMS Group and Dr. C.Mohankumar, Director, SIBB-R&D. Dr.Singh is a renowned molecular biologist who has been focusing on the production of transgenic fruits for decades.

He was so impressed by the molecular tools and facilities of SIBB-R&D. During the discussions he expressed his willingness to collaborate with SIBB-R&D in molecular research for the production of transgenic crops using Indian and Australian varieties. At the end, it was mutually agreed upon to undertake joint research projects at international level.
